Poster Contest Guidelines & Tips
Some guidelines:
-
You must live or attend school in Petaluma in order to submit.
-
Multiple entries are allowed.
-
Collaborative entries are allowed (working as a group is OK, as long as all members are given credit on the entry form).
-
Be creative and original! We take copyright infringement seriously - don't do it!
-
Entries must be PG; no mature content. Remember, LumaCon! is a youth event.
-
While not required, we recommend incorporating something representative of Petaluma into your logo.
-
Your poster should say "LumaCon!" and the year "2027" as well as the date it will happen, "January 30th from 10am to 4pm / 30 de enero de 10am a las 4pm" as well as the location "Petaluma Community Center / Centro comunitario de Petaluma"
-
By submitting any entry in this contest, you agree to allow LumaCon! (& all future iterations thereof) unrestricted use of the art, including modification, without compensation.

This contest is limited to participants ages 18 and under.
How long do I have?
All entries are due by the end of the day (11:59 PM) on December 1st, 2025.
Technical Requirements
Your poster should:
-
have the highest resolution possible (not to exceed 300ppi)
-
if you are creating a digital poster only, it should be able to print with a height of 36 inches without losing any resolution
-
if you are hand-drawing your poster, it should fill up an 8 1/2" x 11" page at least

What if I win?
The winning posters will be used on various marketing materials, including the LumaCon website. The winners will receive cash prizes, as well as possible additional prize(s) as determined.
Can I see an Example?
Sure! Here's a really basic example that includes all the required text. You don't have to make your poster look like this-be as creative as you want as long as all the required elements are there.
